This is an American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)/Heartsaver Instructor course.
DO NOT ENROLL unless you have already been approved to align with our training center. Email info@idahocprplus.com if you are unsure and to see if you are allowed to align.
Note: A BLS instructor is also able to teach all Heartsaver classes
- Time: approximately 5 hours classroom (Part 1) and 4 hours initial class monitoring (Part 2)
- Certification Period: 2 years
- Testing: written test and skills check-off required
- Fee: includes initial class, instructor eCard, one time classroom monitoring, and first year of instructor alignment fee. Does not include online instructor essentials or required Instructor Manual
This course involves 2 parts:
Part 1 is the initial instructor led classroom portion where you will learn:
- How to conduct your Heartsaver and/or BLS classes
- Supplies and equipment needed for your classes
- How to access the AHA Instructor network and utilize the resources within the program
- How to access and navigate the class record system enrollware program
- How to align with your training site/center
- Review of Heartsaver and BLS skills
Part 2 involves being monitored teaching your first class within 6 months of the Part 1 classroom portion
Before enrolling in this instructor class:

Be accepted by our AHA Training Center and complete the Instructor Candidate Application on file with the Training Center

Have a current American Heart Association BLS provider status and be proficient in all the skills.
