This course is intended for first time Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) students or expired certifications.
The PALS course uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The course offers life-like skills animations, team dynamics role play, and scenarios appropriate to different types of providers (pre-hospital and in-hospital).
PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR CLASS: This class may be difficult for you if you have not studied or prepared and if you are not familiar with basic PALS pharmacology and ECG rhythms. There are a number of levels of medical provider experiences in these classes, so being prepared will assist in the flow of the class for all students. Your PALS book, the ShopCPR.heart.org store, and other online websites have PALS resources to assist you to prepare and successfully complete the class.
You must complete the precourse self-assessment and precourse work and email the CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION to info@IdahoCPRplus.com 48 hours prior to the start time of class or you will not be able to attend this class: https://elearning.heart.org/course/426
- Intended for: healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.
- Time: approximately 6 to 8 hours - depending on number of students
- Certification Period: 2 years
- Testing: written test and skills check-off required - High Quality Infant and Child CPR, Airway Management, Vascular Access, Rhythm Disturbances, and Testing Case Scenarios

If needed, you may purchase a hard copy textbook from Idaho CPR Plus ($64) to receive in class or a scheduled pick up at the office (please call first) or you may purchase a less expensive hard copy or an eBook ($50) from ShopCPR.heart.org. The eBook link will be provided in your confirmation email.
